The Virginia Court of Appeals upheld what appears to the nation’s first ever felony spam conviction. Back in 2004, Jeremy Jayes and his sister from North Carolina were convicted of spamming.

It appears that this guy, Jeremy is considered one of the top spammers in the world at thetime of his arrest. How do people track this crap ?

He is said to have used up to 16 broadband connections to sendhundreds of thousands of emails per day, according to court documents.

The Courts also ruled that the Commonwealth’s anti-spamming statute does not violate the First Amendment, Dormant Commerce Clause and is also not unconstitutionally obtuse.

Police found more than 176 million email addresses and more than 1.3 billion usernames CDs confiscated from his home. (yikes!)
